Projects
What it is about
The Projects section in Vektor allows you to centrally manage your company’s or team’s projects. You can create new projects, track their status, link them to clients, assign responsible persons and schedules, and keep all project information organised clearly.
Getting started
You can access project management by opening the Project Management option from the main menu on the left and clicking the Projects link found underneath it.
What you can do on this page
- View project listings: You can see a list of saved projects. By default, projects are grouped according to their status (e.g. "UPCOMING"). The columns show the project name, client, responsible person, project group, and project status.
- Create a new project: Click + New Project in the top right corner of the page. The project Name is a mandatory field. You can also fill in more detailed information such as Client, a more extensive Description (with rich text editor), Responsible Person, Start and End dates, Project Group, Keywords, and Budgeted workload (in hours).
- Update project status: When creating a new project or editing an existing one, you can select the current status of the project from a dropdown menu. The options are: Upcoming, In Progress, Paused, or Completed.
- Search and filter projects: The Filters button in the top right opens a handy side menu. You can filter search results precisely based on project name, project group, status, keywords, responsible person, or client.
- Customise the table view: From the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top left of the list, you can adjust which information you want to see in the columns of the listing.
Tips and notes
- Make use of project statuses: Always keep the project status up to date. The status information helps keep the list organised, and team members can immediately see which tasks are currently underway (In Progress) and which are still waiting (Upcoming).
- Accurate documentation: The better you fill in the basic project details at the creation stage (such as Description and Budgeted workload), the fewer ambiguities will arise as the project progresses.
- Use keywords: If your company has dozens or hundreds of projects, smart use of the Project Keywords field will greatly facilitate finding the right projects using the Filters function.
- Filters’ Show per page setting: If you want to see more projects at once without paging, remember to increase the "Show per page" value in the filter menu.
